    Their is a high resembelance between an Ethiopian Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox church Liturgical structures. One thing in particular differs in each other which is Proskomedia / Great Entrance /. We as an Ethiopian Orthodox Church have an Entrance after the Gospel Reading before starting the Anaphoric Prayer but the Priests and Deacons don't hold the Sacramental offerings. Basically Our Liturgy starts with preparatory and supplicatory Prayer then the invocation prayer or Trisagion will be chanted. Then after Intercessional Prayer will procced. After that the liturgy of the word will be conducted consisting of reading Paulian and Catholic Epistles proceeding. Before Gospel reading a specific hymn will be chanted from psalm then after prayer for Catchemen is going to be conducted. Anaphoric prayer will proceed and the Jesus prayer will be chanted in high voice 41 times both by priests and laymen.Finally communion will be given to the congregants. Specific hymn will be chanted by chantors while conducting communion the liturgical prayer will be concluded by a Conclusionary prayer held by the Arch Priest and arch deacon of that day.

    The main differences between Orthodox Christianity and Roman Catholicism. the main things which keep our religions separate are: Papal Supremacy, Papal Infallibility, The Filioque, Absolute Divine Simplicity, Created Grace Doctrine, natural theology, scholasticism, Original sin, sacred heart doctrine, Immaculate conception, Purgatory, Merits/Indulgences, evolution of Dogma,imaginative prayer, "beatific vision" etc Then the Forced Celibacy of Priests, The use of Unleavened Bread in the Eucharist, The Adoption and change of the Christian calendar, The use of Renaissance statues, Pews, Child Communion, improper non immersion baptism, Cardinals, and differences in liturgical practices (Alter tables, Iconostasis, priest positioning etc) all of those things, we say the Western Church adopted and innovated and became heretical when they adopted these things. And we say that in the early church NONE of these things existed, there is no evidence of these things. No examples of Papal Infallibility, No examples of merits/indulgences, and no examples of unleavened wafer bread, and such. In fact in the west, In Rome. It looked a lot similar to how we Orthodox exist today. Our priests can get married, we use Icons and not statues, we use the old calendar etc Orthodoxy Vs Roman Catholicism: Energy Essence Distinction vs Absolute Divine Simplicity Ancestral Sin vs Original Sin Non Filioque Trinity vs Filioque Trinity Patriarchy vs Papacy Revealed Theology vs Natural Theology Hesychasm Vs Scholasticism Theosis vs Sanctification Married Priest vs Celibate Priests Infant Communion Vs Non Infant Communion Iconography vs Statues Full Immersion Baptism vs Sprikle Baptism One Baptism vs Confirmation Baptism Leavened Communion Bread vs Unleavened Communion bread Julian Calendar vs Pope Gregory's Calendar We are not the same Religion, we do not have the same faith, and anyone who looks into either religions genuinely will see how different we are.

    Specifically, Luther excluded 6 books of the Catholic bible which has 73 books, leaving 66 books. Would God really want His book to be made up of 66 books? (6 being the # of imperfection, of man and the Beast; contrasted with 7, the # of completion and perfection, 3 the # of the Holy Trinity). Anyone familiar with the significance of those numbers should question the authority of Luther. It should give Protestants pause.

  • @user-jb3th9fr4v

    My question is, and I'm not trying to argue but it feels as if the bible contradicts the orthodox churches view on salvation the bible demonstrates ands shows to me that every time someone is justified it is through faith and if it's true then their fruits shall show it that's were good works come in like the whole chapter of hebrews 11, ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:27. And all the times where it is indirectly stated like the theif on the cross or the profits like moses and Noah. Where the orthodox believe that man is saved by "communion with God" and theosis witch when explained sounds like works based salvation it feels as if these two contradict witch is why I haven't covered to orthodoxy yet.

    The moment he mentioned Paul, actually the Moment that I read the title of Sain attached to his name, I knew then that I was going to hear a large volume of words seemingly intellectually spoken of nonsensical reasoning. 😢 It’s sad that we modern day Christians were mislead by those so called church fathers and so called saints that hijacked the teachings of Jesus Christ right out from under The Chosen 11 + 1 Apostle selected from the two qualified disciples that walked with Jesus and themselves through out Jesus’s teachings up to the point of the crucifixion. The Apostles, chosen by Jesus Himself while He was here on Earth and replaced them with the gospels/letters of Saul/Paul of Tarsus who had not one time began or ended his letters saying that these words are the words of God/Jesus that I have brought you. Nor did he say that he was spreading the news that his epistles are the testimonies that he had seen or heard from the witnesses to the works and teachings of Jesus Christ. I never heard Paul’s letters to those churches say repent of your sins and follow The Laws of The Father just as The Son of God followed The Laws while exercising His Grace and Mercy on the down trodden and the Pharisees and Sadducees as well as they mixed and mingled the Laws of God with human traditions made it overwhelming for people under them. The Son of God sacrificed his human flesh in order physically demonstrate the unseen God in order to save the world from its sins. But Paul says follow me as I follow Christ all the while he does not speak in the clear, non-confusing, humility shown to The Father manner and spirit as The Christ, The Son of God and His chosen Apostles whom Paul withstood them and called them hypocrites to their face and wrote letters to churches about it and called those Apostles so called Super Apostles of he was no lesser than. So much for humility from Paul a rather boastful guy who says he doesn’t boast and doesn’t lie.

    • @jacobdeville1157
      @jacobdeville1157 День назад

      Didn't paul meet with the apostles multiple times and they didn't rebuke him? If this is true, when the apostles knew what paul was doing why wasn't he loudly renounced in letters from the other apostles? Just a quick question

    • @rvbel4896
      @rvbel4896 День назад

      @@jacobdeville1157 If you are aware that Paul met with the Apostles appointed by Jesus he was calling them So-called Super Apostles, I think he even referred to Peter as a hypocrite and if I’m not mistaken he may have opposed James as well. James is one who is on record as saying faith without works is dead. James is also the one in Acts who knew that the whole city of Jerusalem was aware of the rumors of Paul’s arrival and were in an uproar about Paul supposedly teaching against the law and circumcision to not only Gentiles but Jews, so he suggested to Paul that there are 4 men that were going to be taking the Nazarite vows, pay for their fees and that he also take the vows in n order to prove to the people that he is faithful to the Jewish Laws and Commandments. Sounds like Paul raised some concerns. See Acts 21 chapter. This is when they all read from only one Holy Scripture and that was The Torah and The Prophets, there wasn’t a New Testament and their letters were not considered scriptures, that would have been a death sentence to call their letters or epistles scriptures. Yet somehow 2 Peter is quoted as calling Paul’s teachings as scripture I’m not sure if there were any witnesses other than Paul himself when Jesus elected Paul as an Apostle and I am not sure why Jesus wouldn’t have informed His handpicked Apostles of whom he kept no secret and provided them with the helper, the Holy Ghost, to bring them into remembrance of his teachings and what to say. I don’t want to disbelieve Paul but if The Eleven Apostles guided by The Holy Ghost selected a twelfth apostle in order to maintain 12 after the loss of Judas the betrayer had killed himself then Matias plus Paul equals Thirteen Apostles and that math doesn’t add up to The number of Apostles to be judging in The Book of Revelations equals Twelve. That doesn’t even include all the Apostles and TV evangelists claiming that they have been called by Jesus as well up to this very day this comment is being read. For me Paul’s letters were difficult to read until I understood that more about the Laws, the Covenants and the books of Matthew, Mark and John. Paul may not have made the distinction between the Laws that existed since the beginning from Adam & Eve up to Moses and the Law that came later called the sin/sacrifice offering as well as his calling our natural inclination to seek our on desires a carnal law. He seems to have just used the generic word law without much regard that many years into the future his letters would be read by people without the context of the time period in which he lived. I’m willing to admit that I was warned in 2 Peter that I could become confused by Paul’s letters and I did get confused and I even thought he might be one of the Anti-Christ but I never doubted The Commandments and Laws of God nor The Prophets, Nor The Words of Jesus Christ. I kept searching everyone’s commentaries and RUclips videos on Paul’s teachings comparing Pros and Cons and how he compares with Old Testament Scripture until today I still compare and research but I will rather be on the safe side and be a law practicing Gentile. 🤔📖🙏🏽

    I don't know what Orthodox Church you attend but I was born into the Church and raised my children in it. I went to Sunday School and so did my children, from Pre-K all the way up to 8th grade. Depending on the grade and ages they started with Christian coloring books and as they matured then they were taught more about our beliefs, but there was always room for play, moving around and socializing with their peers. They were brought in to receive Holy Communion then brought back to Sunday School. Then at the at end they were brought back into the Church where our Priest would speak to them and answer questions they might have. Mother's and/or Father's with infants and toddlers had a special room in the back as not to disturb Liturgy if they needed to use it. Children can't possibly be expected to sit or stand still for long periods of time and as far as I know our Church understands this. Or maybe I am just lucky to have great Priests.

    Great video ! As the noted protestant author Tozier wrote concerning protestantism," In our zeal to escape the saved by works of the catholics we have committed the opposite error of faith without obedience". Faith must be demonstrated by acts of obedience in order to recieve from God even when its' focus is salvation. The Word " recieve", in the new testaments' original Greek means," to take hold of". This requires an act of obedience on our part not to somehow earn the free gift, but to recieve it. Acts 2:38 is how we recieve the free gift of salvation.

    Yeah, we can. But we don't go out of our way to get tattoos. Personally, I already had my ink work done prior to switching to coptic Orthodox christianity... just because I can, doesn't mean I should.

    Yes, technically you dont “have to” it you may “want to.” and that is for you to decide :) One line of thinking is to not stand out as church is not about upstaging and if every woman is veiling in the church and you don’t veil you are bringing attention to yourself and the same goes for a church where all the women do not veil. Personally I veil at this time out of Respect. We have a mixed church so some veil and some don’t. I never in all my life considered wearing a veil during church and it just seems natural now (funny how that works). Women have been wearing scarves and hats in church in the West for quite sometime if you take the Modern approach. If you take the Biblical approach, it’s about respect IMHO God Bless you

    Why in the world did you not wear a cross or have a portrait of Christ in your home? Were you Mormon? You're spreading false information if you say that Protestants don't wear crosses or have portraits of Christ.
